Poetry Submission Guidelines:

The Reynolds Review only accepts poetic submissions, but the editors will admit that “Poetry” is a broad genre. So what is poetry? Here are our definitions:

• Poetry can rhyme but doesn’t have to.

• Poetry can have exact punctuation but doesn’t need to.

• Poetry can be arranged in creative ways or in a traditional manner. It can be strange, it can change, it can even be orange (though we won’t print it in color. Sorry, black and white only, folks.) Poetry can even be “disarranged.” (“Deranged,” anyone?)

Basically, however you choose to write your poetry, be sure to submit it to the Reynolds Review for a chance at publication.

How to submit poetry:

• Send up to six (6) of your best poetic pieces pasted into the body of the email to reynoldsreview@unk.edu. If you are concerned about the formatting of your poetry, you may also submit your pieces via a .doc or .rtf file through this same email address. On the other hand, if you're old school about your poetry, feel free to drop it off (hardcopy) in the Reynolds Review mailbox at the UNK English Department.

• Alongside your poetic submission, we would like to receive a brief bio (think, 200 words or less) detailing who you are as a student, writer, etc. If you wish, you can also include a brief artistic statement.

Art Submission Guidelines:

This year, the Reynolds Review is endeavoring to introduce a studio-art element into the journal. A limited number of artistic submissions will be accepted -- and printed (in color!) -- at the journal's center. That said, I need to remind you that the Reynolds Review only accepts "poetic" submissions. So, artists, here are you guidelines:

• Art submissions must be ekphrastic in subject or matter. In this case, this means that your submissions need to have been inspired by poetry or poetic elements.

How to submit artwork:

• Send up to four (4) jpegs of your best poetry-related studio-art pieces as an email attachment to reynoldsreview@unk.edu. Individual jpegs must be at least 300 dpi.

• Indicate in the body of the email the 1) name of each piece, 2) size of each work (in inches) and 3) poetic inspiration for each work.

• Alongside your submission, we would like to receive a brief bio (think, 200 words or less) detailing who you are as a student, artist, etc. If you wish, you can also include a brief artistic statement.
